GCTU Sends Solidarity Message to Pyongyang
On the 26th of April 2004, Vladimir Scherbakov, General Secretary of the General Confederation of Trade Unions sent a message of solidarity to Bro Ryom Sun Gil, President of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) in Pyongyang. “We were deeply shocked by the reported ruinous aftermath of the fatal railway accident that has caused a loss of human life and heavy material damage”, the message reads. “We share the anguish and sufferings sustained by Korean workers as a result of this catastrophe.” “On behalf of the General Confederation of Trade Unions and its affiliated organizations we send our sincere condolences, sympathy and solidarity to the workers, and trade unions of the KPDR, and to the families and relatives of the killed and injured”. |
